Hawkshead village, with its cobbled alleys and square is 1m away. Hill Top Farm where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her famous childrens stories is 1 1/2m away.

The hostel is situated 1 mile south of Hawkshead village on the Newby Bridge Road, on the west side of Esthwaite Water. The hostel is signposted from Hawkshead village and Near Sawrey.
