Approached by a 1 1/2m track from the village of Glenridding, this hostel is isolated and peaceful. Less strenuous walks include Place Fell, Glenridding Dodd or the lakeshore paths around Ullswater. Steam boat trips on the lake are popular.

Hostel is due W of Glenridding Village on sign-posted route. The lane up to the hostel is untarmaced for the last 3/4m but is suitable for vehicles.
